Short video (28 seconds): the steps to cancel your hosting from the client area.
If you no longer need your hosting, you can cancel your hosting or stop its renewal yourself from the Hyyat Host client area. This guide shows the steps with pictures, the difference between immediate cancellation and cancellation at the end of the billing period, what to do before cancelling so you do not lose your website files or email, and how to cancel the linked domain in the same step.
Before you request cancellation #
When the cancellation is carried out, the website files, databases and email accounts on the hosting are removed from the server, so prepare what you need first:
- A full backup of your website files and database from cPanel, saved on your own device. See why backups matter.
- Important email: move it to a mail app on your device or to another email service.
- The domain: if you are moving your site to another provider, keep the domain and change its nameservers or transfer it. If you no longer need it, tick its cancellation option.
- Need a smaller or bigger plan? You may not need to cancel at all, just upgrade or downgrade from the same service page. Compare plans in which hosting suits you.
Steps to cancel your hosting (with pictures) #
Step 1: Open My Services #
Log in to the client area (see how to log in to the client area), then open My Services. Your services appear as cards with their status and renewal date. Click Manage Service on the hosting you want to cancel.
Step 2: Click “Request Cancellation” #
On the service page, the sidebar has Request Cancellation under Actions. Click it to open the cancellation form.
Step 3: Write the reason and choose the type #
- Write a short reason for cancellation; it helps us improve.
- Choose the cancellation type: “Immediate” or “End of Billing Period” (see the table below).
- If Also cancel renewal of the linked domain appears and you want to cancel the domain too, tick it.
- Click Request Cancellation.
Step 4: Confirmation #
A message confirms that the cancellation request was received and our team will review it. If you ticked the domain option, a domain cancellation request is recorded too and you receive a confirmation email.
Immediate or end of billing period? #
| End of Billing Period | Immediate | |
|---|---|---|
| Website and email | Keep working until the due date | Stop when the request is carried out |
| Renewal | The service does not renew after the term | The service ends now |
| Best if | You want to use the paid time, or move your site calmly | You already moved your site and took your backup |
In most cases we recommend End of Billing Period, because it gives you enough time to move your website and email without downtime.
Cancel the domain together with the hosting #
If the domain linked to the hosting is registered in your account, the cancellation form shows Also cancel renewal of the linked domain. When ticked, the domain stops renewing so no new renewal invoice is issued, and it keeps working until its expiry date. If you have a domain without hosting, or forgot to tick the option, follow the domain cancellation guide. To pause domain renewal only, see turning domain auto-renewal off.
What happens after you submit? #
- Our team receives and reviews the request, and we reply within 24 hours at most if anything needs clarifying.
- With “End of Billing Period” the service keeps working until the due date, then it is cancelled and not renewed.
- With “Immediate” the service is cancelled when the request is carried out.
- A cancellation request does not include any automatic refund. For questions about an invoice or an amount paid, open a ticket with the billing team.
Changed your mind? #
If the cancellation has not been carried out yet, open a support ticket quickly with the service and domain name, and we will withdraw the request.
Hosting cancellation FAQ #
Are my website files deleted after cancellation? #
Yes. When the cancellation is carried out, files, databases and email are removed from the server, so back up before you submit.
Is the domain cancelled with the hosting? #
No, unless you tick “Also cancel renewal of the linked domain” on the cancellation form.
What is the difference between cancelling and stopping renewal? #
Choosing “End of Billing Period” stops the renewal: the service runs until the term ends, then stops. “Immediate” stops it now.
I do not see “Request Cancellation”. Why? #
There may already be a cancellation request under review for the service, or the service is not active. Open a ticket and we will help.
I am moving my site elsewhere. What first? #
Back up, move your website and email, point the domain nameservers to the new provider, then request cancellation at the “End of Billing Period”.
How long until you respond? #
We reply to tickets and requests within 24 hours at most.
