The simple rule: your data size × the number of copies you keep, plus 20% headroom for growth. With BorgBackup or Restic only changes are stored between copies, so you usually need less.

A Storage Box is storage space on separate data-center servers, from 1 to 20 TB, that you connect to from your server or device over FTP, SFTP, rsync, Samba or WebDAV. It is mainly used to keep backups outside the server they protect and to archive large files at a low price.
Your files on Storage Boxes are kept on a RAID configuration that can withstand several drive failures, so the chance of data loss is relatively small. Checksums for individual data blocks are used to detect and correct bit errors. Data is not automatically mirrored to other servers, so we recommend using snapshots and keeping an extra copy of very important data.
Yes, you can create up to 100 sub-accounts from the control panel. Each sub-account uses the same protocols as the main account but can only reach a specific sub-folder you choose, while the main account has full access to all sub-account folders.
Storage Box supports FTP, FTPS, SFTP, SCP, rsync via SSH, HTTPS, WebDAV and Samba/CIFS, and works with the BorgBackup, Restic and Rclone backup tools. Up to 10 concurrent connections are allowed.
A snapshot is an image of the box at a point in time that you can roll back to. You take manual snapshots whenever you like, for example before a big change, and automatic snapshots run on the schedule you set. The snapshot count starts at 10 on the 1 TB plan and goes up to 40 on the 20 TB plan.
