Manual renewal helps when auto renew is off, when you want to add more than one year in advance, or when the domain has expired and is in its grace period. In every case, the domain renews once the invoice is paid.
Method 1: from the Renew Domains page #
- Log in to the client area with your email and password, or with the Google account linked to it.
- From the top menu open Domains → Renew Domains, or open it directly.
- Your domains appear with the days left before each expires. Choose the period under Available Renewal Periods next to the domain, then click Add to Cart.
- In the cart, choose the Payment Method and click Checkout, then pay the invoice.
Method 2: pay the renewal invoice #
If auto renew is on, the renewal invoice is issued 30 days before expiry. Open Billing in the client area, choose the unpaid invoice and pay it. See viewing and paying invoices and payment methods.
What if you renew late? #
- 30 days before expiry: the renewal invoice is issued if auto renew is on, and a reminder is emailed to you.
- Renewal date: pay before it so your website and email keep working without interruption.
- Grace period: 10 days for .com, .net and .org, and 15 days for .sa. Your site and email may stop, but renewal is still possible.
- Redemption period: 25 days, and getting the domain back costs an extra redemption fee.
- After that: the domain may be deleted and become available for anyone to register.
FAQ #
How many years can I renew for? #
It depends on the extension; the allowed periods appear under “Available Renewal Periods”.
Do I lose remaining time if I renew early? #
No. The new period is added to the current expiry date.
Why is my domain not on the renewal page? #
It may still have a long time left before advance renewal opens, or it is past the redemption period. Open a support ticket and we will help.
My domain has expired; can I renew it? #
Yes, during the grace period from the same page. In the redemption period, renewal has an extra fee and is done through a support ticket.
When does the new expiry date show? #
After the payment is confirmed and the renewal is processed, it shows on the domain page under “My Domains”.
