Acceptable Use Policy

What is and is not allowed on Hyyat Host services, to protect your site, our servers and other clients. It applies to hosting, servers, email and domains.

  • We notify you and give you time for ordinary violations, and suspend immediately for serious ones.

Scope

In short:It applies to all our services and to your site's users too.

  1. 1.1This policy applies to all Hyyat Host services, to the client and to anyone using the client's services or site; the client is responsible for their compliance.
  2. 1.2This policy is part of the General Terms of Service, and breaching it is a breach of the agreement.

Prohibited content

In short:Anything that breaks Saudi law or harms others.

  1. 2.1Content that violates the laws of Saudi Arabia, Islamic law or public morals, including pornographic or indecent content.
  2. 2.2Content that incites hatred or sectarian strife, mocks religions, or incites violence or terrorism.
  3. 2.3Promoting or selling drugs, weapons or any goods and services prohibited by law.
  4. 2.4Content that infringes others' intellectual property, including pirated or unlicensed software, themes and plugins, and publishing protected material without permission.
  5. 2.5Defamation, impersonating others, an official body or a trademark, or publishing others' personal data without right.
  6. 2.6Misleading or fraudulent content, such as fake stores and financial scams.
  7. 2.7Legitimate content and business activity, such as online stores and lawful advertising, are allowed and not covered by this ban.

Activities harmful to security

In short:Nothing that threatens systems, networks or users.

  1. 3.1Uploading or spreading malware, viruses, web shells and hacking tools.
  2. 3.2Phishing pages, or any page impersonating another party to collect data.
  3. 3.3Denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks or ping floods, taking part in them, or hosting their tools.
  4. 3.4Port or vulnerability scanning, password guessing, or attempting to access systems or accounts without permission, including our systems and other clients' accounts.
  5. 3.5Running open proxies, open mail relays, or any service that hides the source of harmful traffic.
  6. 3.6Bypassing or attempting to bypass resource limits or security or monitoring systems.

Email and messaging

In short:No messages to people who did not ask for them.

  1. 4.1Sending spam in any form is prohibited: unsolicited commercial or promotional messages, and bulk messages to people who did not subscribe.
  2. 4.2Forging sender details or message headers (spoofing), and flooding someone's mailbox with unwanted messages (mailbombing), are prohibited.
  3. 4.3Promoting a site hosted with us through spam sent from outside our network is prohibited.
  4. 4.4Mailing lists are allowed for people who subscribed with consent (opt-in), with a clear unsubscribe link that works immediately.
  5. 4.5Buying, selling or using purchased mailing lists, and distributing or selling spamming software, are prohibited.
  6. 4.6Sending limits on shared hosting are set out in the Fair Use Policy; large campaigns need a dedicated sending service.

Resources and usage

In short:Use your plan's resources for your site, not for what harms the server.

  1. 5.1On shared hosting the following are prohibited: cryptocurrency mining, torrent and P2P servers, IRC bots, permanent background processes that consume resources, and using hosting as storage or backup for files unrelated to the site.
  2. 5.2Scheduled tasks (cron jobs) are allowed from the control panel at a reasonable frequency for the site's operation.
  3. 5.3Cryptocurrency mining is also prohibited on servers unless agreed in writing in advance.
  4. 5.4Resource, file and database limits are in the Fair Use Policy.

How we enforce this policy

In short:A clear ladder: notice, then suspension, then termination.

  1. 6.1Ordinary violation: we send a notice with a deadline to fix it that matches its severity, and help you fix it if needed.
  2. 6.2Serious violation (malware, phishing, spam, attacks, unlawful content): immediate suspension of the affected account or site to protect others, followed by notice.
  3. 6.3Repeated or unfixed violations: we may terminate the service, with no refund in that case.
  4. 6.4Where possible, we remove the specific offending file or content instead of suspending the whole account.
  5. 6.5We cooperate with the competent authorities and provide what they lawfully request.

Reporting abuse

In short:Seen a violation on our services? Tell us.

  1. 7.1Anyone can report a site, email or activity breaching this policy on our services through a ticket, with the link or full message headers and an explanation.
  2. 7.2We review reports in order of severity and take the appropriate action under this policy.
  3. 7.3Intellectual property reports need proof of ownership of the right; we notify the content owner to respond before removal unless the violation is clear.

Can I host an online store or an advertising site?

Yes, legitimate content and business activity are welcome. What is banned is content that breaks the law or harms others.

Are mailing lists allowed?

Yes, for people who subscribed with consent, with an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Buying lists or messaging people who did not ask is prohibited.

What happens if my site is hacked and spreads malicious files?

We suspend the affected site immediately to protect the server and clients, and tell you which files are infected. Once it is cleaned and updated, the suspension is lifted.

How do I report an abusive site hosted with you?

Open a ticket with the link and an explanation, or the full message headers for spam, and we review it according to its severity.
