In short:<\/strong> If you cannot reach the WordPress dashboard because of a broken plugin, disable all plugins at once: in cPanel File Manager (or over FTP), open the wp-content folder and rename the plugins folder, for example to plugins-off. After you log in, rename it back and activate the plugins one by one to find the one causing the problem.<\/div>\n

Plugins add features to WordPress, but a faulty plugin can make your site very slow, show errors or take it down completely, and even lock you out of the dashboard. Here is how to disable all plugins without the dashboard.<\/p>\n

  1. Open File Manager<\/strong> in cPanel (see how to use File Manager<\/a>), or connect over FTP.<\/li>\n
  2. Go to the folder where WordPress is installed. For your main site this is public_html.<\/li>\n
  3. Open the wp-content<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n
  4. Rename the plugins<\/strong> folder to another name, such as plugins-off.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    All plugins are now disabled. Log in to your dashboard, rename the folder back to plugins, then activate the plugins one by one from the Plugins page until you find the one causing the problem.<\/p>\n
