In short:<\/strong> To create a menu in WordPress (classic themes): go to Appearance, then Menus, then Create a new menu. Enter a name and click Create Menu, add pages, categories or links, choose the menu location in your theme and click Save Menu. Menus are the navigation links, usually at the top of your site, that help visitors move between sections. Menus often link to categories, so create your categories first.<\/p>\n

Create categories<\/h2>\n

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Posts<\/strong>, then Categories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enter the category name and its slug<\/strong> (the part used in the link). For example, name: Small Cars, slug: small-cars, which appears as yoursite.com\/category\/small-cars. Then click Add New Category<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Add a category to the main menu<\/h2>\n

In Appearance, Menus<\/strong>, select the main menu and click Select<\/strong>. Open Categories<\/strong>, click View All<\/strong>, tick the category you want and click Add to Menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The category appears in the menu. Click Save Menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Visit your site and you will see the category in the main menu.<\/p>\n
