Select the domain, the page path and the new URL, choose the www option and click Add.<\/div>\n<h2>What is a redirect?<\/h2>\n<p>A redirect sends visitors (and search engines) from one web address to another. It is useful when you move a page, change your domain, or want a short, easy address that leads to a long one. There are two types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Temporary (302):<\/strong> tells browsers and search engines that the move is temporary, so they keep the original address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Permanent (301):<\/strong> tells them the page has moved for good, so they update the stored address. Use 301 when you move pages, so Google transfers the rankings to the new URL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Set up a redirect in cPanel<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Log in to cPanel. Choose only the domain if you want to redirect the whole site, or add a path if you want to redirect a specific page. Enter the address to redirect to.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> Choose how www is handled: <strong>Only redirect with www<\/strong> redirects only visitors who type www; <strong>Redirect with or without www<\/strong> redirects everyone; <strong>Do not redirect www<\/strong> leaves www visitors on the original address.
