Step 1: Get an SSL certificate<\/h2>\n

HTTPS needs an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate on your domain. Ask your hosting provider to issue one; some providers include it for free and others charge yearly. If your site at Hyyat Host does not have a certificate yet, open a support ticket from the client area<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Switch your site to HTTPS<\/h2>\n

Once the certificate is active, update your site so it loads over HTTPS instead of HTTP. Your developer can do this, or use one of the methods below.<\/p>\n

Using a plugin (WordPress)<\/h3>\n

Install a plugin such as Really Simple SSL<\/strong> or Easy HTTPS (SSL) Redirection<\/strong> from the WordPress plugin directory. It switches your links from HTTP to HTTPS quickly. Also check Settings \u2192 General<\/strong> in WordPress that both site addresses start with https:\/\/<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Using the .htaccess file<\/h3>\n

In your site’s main folder (public_html<\/strong> in cPanel), create a file named .htaccess<\/strong> if it does not exist, and add this at the top:<\/p>\n

RewriteEngine On\nRewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on\nRewriteRule ^ https:\/\/%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]<\/code><\/pre>\n
