In short:<\/strong> Email archiving in cPanel keeps copies of your incoming<\/strong>, outgoing<\/strong> and mailing list<\/strong> messages for a period you choose. Open cPanel \u2192 Email \u2192 Archive<\/strong>, select the message types and the retention period, and it applies to all email accounts on the domain.<\/div>\n

Archived messages are stored in the mail folder of your account. Each day, a new folder is created by type and date (YYYY-MM-DD<\/strong>) containing all messages from that day.<\/p>\n

Enable and configure email archiving<\/h2>\n

  1. Log in to cPanel.<\/li>\n
  2. Click Archive<\/strong> in the Email section.\n

  3. Select the types of messages to archive.<\/li>\n
  4. Choose how long to keep them: forever or a specific period.<\/li>\n
  5. Wait a few seconds for archiving to be enabled for all domains on the hosting account.\n

    Download the archive<\/h2>\n

    1. Click Download Archive<\/strong>.\n

    2. Choose the folder to download: all archives, incoming or outgoing. A .zip file with the archived messages is downloaded to your computer.\n

      1. Click Access Webmail<\/strong> to view the archive in webmail.\n

      2. Choose the webmail app you want to use.<\/li>\n
      3. Under the Archive<\/strong> folder you will find a subfolder for each type and date.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        In Roundcube:<\/strong> open Settings<\/strong>, tick the subfolders you want to show, then refresh the page.<\/p>\n
