In short:<\/strong> In most themes go to Appearance \u2192 Menus<\/strong>, pick an item on the left (page, post, custom link or category) and click Add to Menu<\/strong>, drag to reorder, then click Save Menu<\/strong>. To remove an item, open it and click Remove<\/strong>. In modern block themes, menus are in Appearance \u2192 Editor \u2192 Navigation<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

Add a menu item (classic themes)<\/h2>\n

  1. In the dashboard go to Appearance \u2192 Menus<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Select the menu to edit at the top, or create a new one.<\/li>\n
  3. From the left column choose the item type: Pages<\/strong>, Posts<\/strong>, Custom Links<\/strong> or Categories<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Tick the item and click Add to Menu<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. Drag and drop to reorder. To make a sub-menu<\/strong> item, drag it slightly to the right under its parent.<\/li>\n
  6. Under Menu Settings<\/strong> choose where it appears, such as the primary menu.<\/li>\n
  7. Click Save Menu<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Remove a menu item<\/h2>\n

    1. In Appearance \u2192 Menus<\/strong> click the arrow next to the item to open its settings.<\/li>\n
    2. Click Remove<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Click Save Menu<\/strong>. Removing an item from the menu does not delete the page itself.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      In block themes (such as Twenty Twenty-Four)<\/h2>\n

      1. Go to Appearance \u2192 Editor \u2192 Navigation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      2. Select the menu and click +<\/strong> to add a page or link.<\/li>\n
      3. To delete an item, click the three dots (\u22ee) next to it, then Delete<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      4. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        In classic themes you can also edit menus with a live preview from Appearance \u2192 Customize \u2192 Menus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
