# How to Install ClamAV Antivirus from WHM

**In short:** To install the ClamAV antivirus on a cPanel server: go to WHM, then cPanel, then Manage Plugins, tick ClamAV Scanner and click Save, and wait for the success message. Each user can then scan their files and email with the Virus Scanner in cPanel.

ClamAV is a popular open-source (GPL) antivirus designed to detect trojans, viruses, malware and other threats. It is available as a plugin for cPanel servers and lets each cPanel user scan their home directory and email and remove infected files.

**1.** Log in to WHM at **https://your-server-ip:2087** with your username and password.

**2.** Go to the **cPanel** section in WHM.

**3.** Click **Manage Plugins**.

**4.** Find **ClamAV Scanner** in the list, tick **Install and keep updated** and click **Save**. You can uninstall plugins from the same page.

The installation takes a few minutes and shows its log as it runs. When it finishes, you will see a success message.
