# How to Turn On Cloudflare “I’m Under Attack” Mode

**In short:** To turn on I'm Under Attack Mode in Cloudflare: log in to the Cloudflare dashboard, select your domain, and turn on Under Attack Mode from the Overview page (Quick Actions) or from Security, then Settings. Every visitor sees a short check page before reaching your site. Use it only during a DDoS attack and turn it off afterwards.

I'm Under Attack Mode is an extra protection level in Cloudflare for when your website is under a DDoS attack. It shows visitors a short check page for a few seconds before they reach your site, which blocks most attack traffic.

## Turn it on

1. Log in to the [Cloudflare dashboard](https://dash.cloudflare.com/).
2. Select your domain.
3. On the **Overview** page, find **Quick Actions** and turn on **Under Attack Mode**. You can also find it under **Security**, then **Settings**.

## When to turn it off

Turn it off once the attack is over. The check page adds a short delay for every visitor and can affect search engines and services that call your site (such as APIs and payment notifications).
