# How to Check Bandwidth Usage in cPanel

**In short:** To see your account's bandwidth usage: open cPanel, go to Metrics, then Bandwidth. It shows the usage for the current month and previous months for each service: web (HTTP), email (POP and IMAP), and FTP if FTP logging is enabled.

Bandwidth is the amount of data transferred between your website and its visitors over a period, usually measured per month. Your hosting plan may have a monthly bandwidth limit, so it is useful to check your usage. **1.** Log in to cPanel (see [how to log in to cPanel](https://www.hyyat.com/en/knowledgebase/how-to-log-in-to-cpanel/)).

**2.** In the **Metrics** section, click **Bandwidth**.

**3.** You will see your bandwidth usage in megabytes for each service, for the current month and previous months. It includes HTTP (web) and email traffic, and FTP traffic if your server administrator enabled FTP bandwidth logging.
